38 km from Douville, Le Bugue offers a wide range of activities to enjoy, especially with the family (aquarium, treetop adventure course, caves, Bournat Park, etc.).
Château de Tiregand: a Périgord castle to discover in a different way
We tested it for you (and we loved it)! Located about twenty minutes from our hotel and 5 km from Bergerac, with a 180-degree view of the valley and the Dordogne River, the Château de Tiregand opens its doors to you. It is made up of the castle, several outbuildings, terraces, a large park, a folly overlooking the valley, moats and underground passages. And you can visit everything.
Known in the Bergerac region for having been owned by the Saint-Exupéry family (yes, it's the same family as the famous aviator and writer), it changed hands in March 2022. Louis Guyot, the new owner, opened the castle's doors to the public. And don't expect a classic visit: you'll have the opportunity to wander through several rooms and pavilions of the castle, in the gardens and even in the underground passages by participating in a theatrical game with several actors. In addition, depending on the day of the week, you can participate in garden parties: from 7 p.m. the castle lights up, a DJ offers you good music, the champagne and beer bar opens and you can eat with local products. Board games are at your disposal.
Nico's Hikes: quad or electric scooter rides
The sun. The countryside. The landscapes. The hikes. It already smells like vacation, doesn't it? Just half an hour from our hotel, you can treat yourself to all this in the form of a quad or all-terrain electric scooter ride (imagine a bike with a small platform instead of pedals).
You decide the means of transport (quad or scooter) and the length of your ride (from 30 minutes to... several days!!!) depending on your wishes, your availability, and your physical condition.
Nico and his colleagues will provide you with the necessary equipment (helmets, gloves, batteries, etc.) and give you a short training session followed by a few laps of the meadow on site. And once you've got the hang of it, the ride begins! Nico and his colleagues will guide you through forests and vineyards, between pastures and castles, to discover the best views of the Bergerac region.
Long pants and long sleeves are recommended, as well as closed shoes.
The Randos de Nico team is made up of guides certified by the FFM (French Motorcycling Federation). To drive a quad, you must have a class A or B driving license and be at least 16 years old. Children between 6 and 16 can be passengers.
For a quad bike ride, you must be at least 12 years old.

Cyber Games 24: A journey into the games of tomorrow
If you're looking for an unusual experience that will take you into the future, Cyber Games 24 is the perfect place. In a 500 m² space, you'll have access to a multitude of activities to do with family, friends, or colleagues.
Cyber Games 24 is open every afternoon (except Mondays). On some evenings, with prior reservation, you can play until midnight. There are several rates (from €5 to €25) depending on the activities chosen, the number of people, and the time spent playing.
The activities are not suitable for children under 8 years old... but they are suitable for all other audiences: groups of friends, parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, etc. These are activities to do together, to share good times and good memories.

Lascaux: a journey into prehistory
1940: A dog rushes into a burrow. The four boys he accompanies explore the hole and, in one step, take a journey 18,000 years into the past. They discover the Lascaux Cave, now world-renowned as one of the world's most decorated caves. Several rooms covered with paintings made by Cro-Magnon man make these caves the “Sistine Chapel of Prehistory”.
Listed since 1979 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the cave aroused real enthusiasm when it was opened to the public in 1948. Unfortunately, the number of visitors and the development work changed the balance that had allowed the paintings to be perfectly preserved until today, and various mosses and fungi appeared on the walls and on the structures. After several attempts to resolve the problem, the Cave was permanently closed to the public by the Minister of Culture.
The Château de Montréal, a historic monument and “Remarkable Garden”
The Château de Montréal is a charming castle overlooking the Crempse Valley. Located in the commune of Issac, on a hill, the castle shows the world its beautiful Renaissance facade, well protected by its ramparts. And it is in honor of this castle that the city of Montreal in Canada bears its name: it was Claude de Pontbriand (brother of the Lord of Montreal) who, in 1535, discovered the Indian village of Hochelaga; this village would become the current city of Montreal.
The site, classified as a historic monument, is composed of several elements, all of which can be visited. The first and most visible is the central body, which is today the private residence of the Faubournet de Montferrand family. In this part, we can visit some of the salons, a circular library (located in a tower), a collection of portraits, and a collection of tapestries inspired by the fables of La Fontaine. The castle dates back to the 12th century but was restored and modernized in the 16th century.
The Gardens of the Manoir d’Eyrignac: the perfection of topiary art
The Gardens of the Manor of Eyrignac: where nature meets the patience, excellence, and devotion of man. These gardens, owned by the same family for 500 years, were first created in the 18th century and have undergone various modifications up to the present day. In the 1960s, Gilles Sermadiras, a descendant of the 17th-century owner of the manor, decided to restore the place to its original appearance: the garden opened to the public in 1987. Today, it is one of the most visited in the Périgord region, is part of the association “Les Plus Beaux Jardins de France” and is also classified as a “Remarkable Garden”.
This garden, with its magical atmosphere, offers visitors hundreds of plant sculptures, fountains, flowerbeds, and water basins. The garden, in French style, is organized into sectors each with a specific theme: the Allée des Charmes, the most representative part of the garden, with its sculptures reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland, the French garden with its geometric shapes, the Vivier with its Italian Renaissance garden areas, the White Garden with its star-shaped fountains and white roses, its vegetable garden which is also a pleasure garden and so many other sectors.
The village and the Château de Beynac
The gently flowing Dordogne River, the stone village caught between the water and the steeply rising cliff, and the castle perched like a crown on top. This is what Beynac-et-Cazenac looks like, in the Périgord Noir.
The 12th-century castle is one of the best-preserved in the Dordogne department and has been the protagonist of many events of great historical importance. It played a key role in the Hundred Years' War as a French outpost against the English stationed at Castelnaud Castle (on the other side of the river) and was owned by Richard the Lionheart.
The castle has been used as the setting for numerous films, including Tavernier's D'Artagnan's Daughter, Poiré's Les Visiteurs 2, and Besson's Joan of Arc. It is open all year round and offers guided tours or audio guides in many languages.
